I love Round Top. If Canton took steroids, it would be Round Top. And I was fortunate to be there the day AFTER the huge heat wave. That cool front came through and let me tell ya, it was a beautiful thing. Breezy and spacious blue skies...Texas at its best. And the epitome of Texas Cool is Junk Gypsy.
OK, this was one of the places I really, really wanted to stop at. And I did not take as many pics as I should have, but I got a few. I love their funky, bohemian, western gurl look.
Loved this. Loved the belt, the layered look, and hey, its the words from the song, "Luckenbach, Texas", whats not to love?
Now how could any good Southern Gurl NOT love this tank? It reads, "Save the Planet, its the only one that has Corn Bread". Gotta love it. My one gripe-oh about these tee's...too. dang. tiny. Seriously fashion people! I would have loved to have this, but ha. My girls and I could not even begin to fit in the XL. And that's just wrong. And I do love that necklace! Wanted that necklace.
Great chunky, funky bracelets. And they just have a cool way of mixing in vintage and fun to make some great displays and eye catching areas.
I seriously wanted this chair AND the umbrella above. Which would have just THRILLED Sweet Hub. NOT.
And this nekkid statue to hang that really cool necklace off of. Buying it would have been reason enough to buy the necklace too. But oh so little time and oh so little folding money. Alas. But lookin is free. So thanks Junk Gypsy for the fabulous eye candy and inspiration. You made my day!

Call for Teachers to open soon!
Have you ever felt the desire to pass on your knowledge and expertise to another person? Any interest in blazing a creative trail? Then come on and bring it, you just might be the Cowgirl Teacher that I'm looking for!
I will begin taking submissions to teach at the end of October. So this is just a little "whisper in yur ear" to get your creative gears a goin. And think about what you could possibly submit as a teacher for Paper Cowgirl.
Our Teachers are the back bone of Paper Cowgirl. So, as Tee used to say, "don't be skeered!"
I'm open to all mediums, crafty, arty, jewelry, etc. I try to present a variety of mediums and skill levels. I have eight spots open for June of 2011. The dates are June 9th, 10th, and 11th. I hope you will consider sending a submission in.
This year I have appointed a committee to help review and decide on our class roster. Otherwise, I pick everyone. LOL.
So, what can you bring to the "art" table at the end of October? I'll be waiting to see.

A New Look for Paper Cowgirl
Every gal needs a new, purty dress every once in a while and I reckon it was time for us to have an overhaul. I'm "de-cluttering" other things in my life, closet, home decor, even myself, so I thought the blog could use a cleaner, simpler look as well.
What do you think?
I love it. Dawn at The Feathered Nest, was able to pluck the exact idea outta my head and reproduce it here. I wanted to pay homage to Tee, those are her glittered hands and her favorite necklace (that she created). And of course, our fave vintage Cowgirl image. I think in the past three years Tee and I had used those gals allot.
Paper Cowgirl is about creating and encouraging other women to create, even if you think you can't, even if you are (as Tee used to say) "skeerd". We (and I love to still say we, cause she is very much with me in spirit here) love to be that vehicle to help you try something new. Or to expand your artistic knowledge on an existing craft. Ever thought about teaching? We are always looking for talented teachers, even if you've not taught before. Our goal is to help other women find their unique, creative self. Thank you Dawn for creating a banner that hopefully expresses those sentiments. I really love it.
Happy Monday y'all.
