Wax On!

my beeswax collage
What a fast paced few Paper Cowgirls days its been lately. What a whirl, but oh what fun! Above is my finished project from Lisa McIlvain's Birdie and he Beeswax class. Oodles of creative bliss to be able to actually take a class and I LOVED this one, from beginning to end.
what a diff the wax makes eh?
Above is BEFORE the beeswax and modeling compounds. I was happy with the way the collage turned out, I got some great help from Lisa as far as composition and laying it all out. But the beeswax....oh man. Something about spreading that wax onto the canvas is just so satisfying. Really gives it the final touch.  You can see the difference it makes.
the Saturday gals - Shannon, Lisa, Patty, me and Lissa
This was the Saturday group! There are more pics on the FB page of the Friday group. Check it out, their projects each turned out so beautifully as well. Loads of great techniques here, using the different compounds, paint and collage. We are going to try and run this class again, if we can get a time period in. Look below to see how FAB each students turned out!
Lissa's beeswax had this wonderful vintage pearl necklace piece incorporated, she had found it at Canton.
Patty's collage was beautiful with dried bits of loveliness adding some great texture.
Shannon's gorgeous collage was bright, blingie and fun!
Just Fab!
Sandra's Striped Canvas Class, BIG on fun and sweet too!
Sandra's class was next. She not only tempted us with wonderful artie painted creations, but sweets as well.
We are going to try and run this class again as well.  Don't miss it!
I was amazed as Sandra taught Susan and Kathy to create these wonderful HUGE 24x24 paintings. Just the cutest things with loads of great layers and bright colors. I worked on a different project, its still a WIP, but I'm loving the background techniques that I learned.
Miss Lily, out littlest Cowgirl in training.
And speaking of new Cowgirls, we have one in training! Miss Lily (which that is the perfect Cowgirl name) joined our posse this weekend. Quite the talented young lady, a chip off her Mom's block for sure. New gals Kathy, Pat and Kathy all fit right into the posse. That should either make em happy or absolute scare em to death. LOL.

And speaking of the posse, a few of us went junkin at Canton on Thursday. Was so much fun, that we are gonna do it again and try and get a bigger group to go next time. As I said, from Thursday on, its been a whirl wind. Nice to have a Monday breather. But looking forward to more creativity, for sure.  Hope you have something a little creative planned for yourself this week as well.
