More Class Peeks

Two more delightful classes have been added to the "Creative Classes" page today.  This lovely lady needs no introduction, and I've been a huge fan of her beautiful creations for many years now, so I'm very much looking forward to meet this gal.  We are delighted to have Dawn Edmonson on board for our March event.  Her "Peat Pot Nest Baby" Class is a class that will make you smile.

Junker Extraordinaire, Crafty Creative Gal and just plain fun, I have to say that I'm just plain tickled to have this wonderful girl here to teach this year!  Beth Leintz is truly a Jill of many Trades and as you can see form the picture above, her project is one that will not skimp on the vintage goodness.  She jokingly said that the alter name for this class could be, "Project Runway - Baby Grunge Style".  See...funny and creative, its a winning combo.

Have you noticed a theme here?  Many of our projects for Spring are neutral in color. I have to tell you this was not a planned thing.  Sort of along the lines of, "great minds think alike".  Any of these projects will be a delightful addition to your home decor.

Three more classes to come and planning to have registration open by Sunday evening.  Bear with me as my ancient computer is wheezing as fast as it can!

Another Class Peek

Lisa, Lisa, Lisa. Is there anything this gal can't do? Now she brings her fabulousness to a sewn book that incorporates LOADS of lace, vintage images on muslin and more.  Lisa's fabric collage book, "Whispers of the Past" is a study in faded beauty.
If you've taken one of Lisa's classes before, you know vintage is her name and a beautiful project is her game. She brings in loads off goodies for all her students to pilfer and play with. Which makes each project sweetly unique.
This project will utilize an old book cover, scrap fabrics, findings both old and new to create a one of a kind journal filled with cloth pages, so that you can decorate with all that inspires you!
Did I mention lace? Totally dripping with lace. You don't want to miss this class.

A Peek at a couple of the March classes

Whimsical Wool Felted Crown by Donna Goss
Fanciful Spring Wreath by Karla Nathan
I've been eagerly waiting to show you the wonderful line up of classes for our March event.  But, my stinky computer is not playing nice.  Even after a visit to the computer doc, its not behaving as it should.  Long story short, downloading is a frustrating process.  But persistence is not always futile and I hope to have them all here shortly.

Here are two of our Spring offerings for March.  Donna's Wool Felted Crown, how cute is that?  Wonderfully, whimsical, this is a class I can't wait to take.  Karla's Spring Wreath is the perfect mix of elegance and beauty for Spring.

I'll try and give you a few more peeks soon.

Every Cowgirl Needs a Great Petticoat

Inquiring minds want to know.  And what do they want to know?  What is happening with Paper Cowgirl for 2012?  Are we having a big event?  Well, yep we are.  June is normally the time of our yearly event, but this year, I needed to make some changes, due to some personal obligations.  So our big event will be in March.  See the cute button on the right?  Grab one!!!!!!!

In March, Paper Cowgirl is teaming up with Petticoats on the Prairie.  This combo event brings you not only eight great Paper Cowgirl classes, but a shopping Extravaganza that you will not believe.  The Petticoat gals show will be on Saturday, March 17th.  "Under the Big Top" (their theme this year) is a juried show, with over forty vendors of fabulous hand-crafted goods, clothes, jewelry, vintage, antiques and more.  It will be held in the historic Chautauqua building, in beautiful Getzendaner Park, on Saturday, March 17th.

Paper Cowgirl is offering eight great classes from some of your favorite Bloggers, Dawn Edmonson, Donna Goss, Beth Leintz, Karla Nathan, Lisa McIlvain, Sandra Feazel, and Karen Valentine.  Classes this year will all be held at The Crafty Scrapper.  We will be in the thick of things as we bring our creative roundup to Down Town Waxahachie.

The weekend starts off right with our usual Meet and Greet on Wednesday night, classes on Thursday and Friday and our huge Petticoats on the Prairie Vendor Show on Saturday.  Dates are March 14th through the 17th.  Save those dates!

More details and class pics to come!

B.P. Valentine Ideas

B.P. Before Pinterest. Tearing up magazines. That's what I did. Torn pages. Stuffed in folders, binders and so forth. Piles of mags waiting to be cut up. Well, that much has NOT changed...lemme tell ya.
I still have piles of mags sitting around just waiting to be skimmed through and torn apart. Most are covered in dust, dust bunnies and cat teeth marks (I have a very oral Tuxedo Cat - who LOVES to bite magazines). These pages are from Country Home, Jan/Feb 2004. That was when they were really doing some cute stuff. Matthew Mead produced these pages, so there ya go. Red, toile and cuteness. Hopefully just a little inspiration for your creativity today. And speaking of, we've got some great classes for January. Don't forget to check out the "Creative Classes" Button and see what you might need to take! -c

A New Look

Every Cowgirl need a new Petticoat or a purty new hair ribbon every once in a while, such was the case for our blog.  Sassy, fun and bright, which is every Cowgirl, and I wanted the blog to reflect that as well.  A HUGE thanks to Karen Valentine, who did an amazing job.  And thanks to Lisa McIlvain for having some great vintage Cowgirl images for us to use.

2012 is going to be a great Cowgirl year.  So, come join the Creative Roundup!

Happily Ever After Classes

Who doesn't love a good romance story? A happy ending? A fairy tale?
For January, Paper Cowgirl is offering a trio of classes that center on "affairs of the heart".

Sandra Feazel's heart allows you to manipulate, paint, sew and more to create this winged heart pocket beauty. Perfect for you to play cupid and tuck something sweet into and leave behind for your Amore' to find.

If two heads are better than one, than surely three hearts are the best.

Vicki Stevenson has created a trio of sweet little hearts that are perfectly adorable and well, they can't be broken. You will stuff and embellish your heart, as you desire.

Wear your heart on your sleeve? Nooooo, around your neck! Jill Collins will teach you to create a beautiful necklace with tons of personality with bits and pieces of fabric, charms and wire. Its chunky and funky and fun.

Class date is on Saturday, January 28th, and will be held at The Crafty Scrapper.  You can take one or as many of the classes as you like (they will be individually priced) and there is no registration fee.  Sign ups for class will be opening soon for each of these fabulous, whimsical heart projects.  Seats will be limited, so don't delay.
